Jared Pink, Vice President-Business Banking at Grand Rapids State Bank, has been with the bank since 2005. At the beginning of his 13-year tenure with the bank, Jared served as the manager of GRSB’s Pokegama branch office. Over time Jared developed a real love for commercial lending, and worked to position himself to take on more responsibility for that aspect of his job. He enjoys being able to make a difference in the lives of his customers and helping them grow their businesses.
Jared’s passion for the banking industry led him to enroll in the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin (Madison) last year. Jared recently completed his third project of the year, and each project takes more than 30 hours to complete. The work necessary for this degree comes on his own time, and this first year of the program has really made an impact on him. “This program has really opened my eyes to what it really takes to manage a bank successfully,” said Jared.
Jared grew up in far northern Minnesota, and he really loves the Grand Rapids community. He currently serves as treasurer on the board of Second Harvest Food Bank. Jared and his wife, Nicole, have two children: Hudson, age 11, and Anysia, age 9. Nicole is a registered nurse at Essentia Health where she’s worked for more than seven years. Hudson is in 5th grade and plays on his school’s traveling basketball team. Fourth-grader Anysia also plays basketball and takes piano lessons. The entire family has a love of the outdoors, especially waterskiing and fishing.
And Jared isn’t the only one you’ll see hitting the books at home. Nicole is currently enrolled at North Dakota State University in the Doctor of Nursing Program, a program she expects to complete in 2020.
