Nate Lloyd, Vice President of Business Banking, has been employed at Grand Rapids State Bank since February of 2015. He enjoys working with customers to help them reach their goals. “I really appreciate that each loan I come across is new and different. The challenges that are unique to each customer are what keep me interested and invested,” Nate explains.
Anna, Nate’s wife, is a Special Education Coordinator for ISD 318. She and Nate grew up in the Grand Rapids area and truly enjoy everything the Northland has to offer, especially the outdoors. Nate graduated from Grand Rapids High School in May of 2002. That year, he played on the varsity basketball team that placed third at the Minnesota State High School Basketball Tournament.
Following high school, Nate attended St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota and graduated in May of 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Prior to graduation, he was offered a position as Credit Analyst at Stearns Bank N.A. in St. Cloud, Minnesota where he worked for almost nine years. During that time, he was promoted from Credit Analyst to Commercial Lender, Assistant Vice President, and, finally, Vice President-SBA/Commercial Lending.
“In early 2015, I was approached about an excellent opportunity to move my family back to Grand Rapids, and I took it” says Nate. Anna and Nate have one daughter, Alaina, who is four. They are eagerly preparing to welcome a second daughter into their family in January! Alaina, like her parents, loves to be outside and enjoys traveling to the family cabin in Ontario, Canada whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Outside of work, Nate particularly enjoys hunting, fishing, and all sporting events. The girls of the family are great fisherwoman, too! Nate currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Itasca County Family YMCA and often participates in the Lunch Buddy program at Cohasset Elementary, as well as the Reading and Math tutors program at Forest Lake Elementary. He has also served on the Finance Committee for the Elementary Facilities Task Force.
“I’m fortunate to work with this incredible team of people at GRSB. Our vibrant community has so much to offer,” explains Nate. “I’m very happy I received the opportunity to raise my children where I grew up.”
